His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said that the world has begun recognising the political and economic weight of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, as well as the importance of the region in the global security and development system.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the new understanding has made the world's stance towards the region and the challenges it is going through more realistic, strengthened the strategic partnership concept with it, and entitled cooperation with it to be of paramount importance and necessity for those seeking to ensure a more secure and stable world.
HRH Premier made the remarks while receiving Royal Family members and senior state officials, at the Gudaibiya palace today.
The Prime Minister reviewed topics pertaining to the latest regional and global developments, stressing that GCC countries have been targeted by conspiracies aimed at subverting their security and stability, in addition to impeding their development process.
Such attempts have failed thanks to the awareness of the peoples of the region and the wisdom of its countries' leaderships, he said.
HRH Premier lauded the role played by sisterly Saudi Arabia to strengthen solidarity among GCC and Arab countries, and step up integration to cover more fields, making the region stronger and more capable of facing threats.
