A police officer and three Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) have been remanded in custody for 15 days pending an investigation into charges of torturing a citizen to death inside Amiriya Police Station.

Karim Magdy and the three NCOs had allegedly tortured Madgy Makeen to death after arresting him.

The lawyer representing the officer requested that the defendant be released because the provisional imprisonment conditions do not exist.
