Prime Minister Fayez Tarawneh on Sunday stressed the need for the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs to strictly implement the regulations for Hajj, the Muslim greater pilgrimage to Mecca. During a visit to the ministry and a meeting with Awqaf Minister Abdul Salam Abbadi, Tarawneh called for raising awareness on zakat, an Islamic tax on income, and spreading the spirit of solidarity among citizens. Abbadi briefed the premier on the ministry’s preparations for the Hajj season.
