The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation welcomed the adoption by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) of two resolutions under the title "Occupied Palestine" and "Educational and Cultural Institutions in the Occupied Arab Territories".
OIC Praised the positions of the countries which voted for the resolutions which affirmed condemnation and rejection by the international community of all Israeli occupation policies and actions, aimed at affecting the political, cultural and religious rights of the Palestinian people in the city of Jerusalem, the capital of the State of Palestine.
OIC Secretary General, Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen stressed the importance of implementing these resolutions, calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and take the necessary measures to put an end to the serious Israeli violations of the Arab-Islamic heritage in Palestine, which are contrary to the principles of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, especially in the cities of Jerusalem and Hebron.
