Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat Tuesday led a graduation ceremony at the Royal Jordanian Command and Staff College of a new Joint Command and Staff course.
In remarks at the ceremony, the college’s commander said that since its establishment, the college had the task of graduating officers from Jordan and Arab and friendly countries to take leading military positions “according to constantly advancing scientific methodology that suits the requirements of modern warfare”.
“We recognise the enormous responsibilities and the required future role of commanders in a fast changing world and a strategic environment rife with threats and colossal challenges, which warrant the preparation of highly qualified commanders to counter these threats and challenges with thought, strength and firmness”, he told the ceremony.
He said the college will remain up to its reputation as a beacon of knowledge and a military landmark.
Towards the end of the ceremony, the army chief handed out diplomas to the 285 graduating officers, including 122 from 12 Arab and other world countries, as well as officers from the JAF and security agencies.
Attending the ceremony were the directors of security apparatuses, top armed forces officers and the military attaches of participating countries.
