HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, said that Bahrain has become one of the countries attracting exhibitions and conferences since it is one of the few that have realised the importance of the exhibition industry and its direct impact on various sectors.
HH Shaikh Nasser added that the country has been actively organising and welcoming exhibitions to boost the tourism sector as well as to shed light on Bahrain’s achievements and development, which is in line with the directives of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to make the Kingdom a favourable destination for exhibitions and conferences.
This came during a visit made by HH Shaikh Nasser to the Gulf Sports Exhibition being held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and HANO Consultancy. Present during HH’s visit was Hisham bin Mohammed Al Jodar, Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs.
HH Shaikh Nasser said: “The Gulf Sports Exhibition is an affirmation of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s attractiveness to exhibitions. Holding the Exhibition is in line with the vision of the Kingdom 2030 and the strategy of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports to attract major companies to the country so Bahrain becomes a platform for showcasing their sports products.”
“The Gulf Sports Exhibition, in which the largest international companies will display their products, will have a positive impact on the youth movement and sports.”
HH Shaikh Nasser expressed his hope that the Gulf Sports Exhibition would achieve the objectives set for it which are to introduce the most modern and cutting-edge products of major sports companies to officials of the youth and sports sector in the Gulf and the region.
HH Shaikh Nasser toured the exhibition and was briefed on the modern equipment and devices presented by the companies participating in the event. HH also listened to a detailed explanation by the companies representatives about the equipment and its importance in sports and their positive impact from a technical point of view.
HH Shaikh Nasser received the book “The King of Youth and Sports”, which includes an illustrated journey in the history of the founder of Bahrain’s modern sport; HM King Hamad. The book was supervised by Khalid Jaman and was authored by Majid Sultan. It includes 16 chapters, and the images featured in the book were contributed by Nasser Mohammed.
