The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation today celebrated the Flag Day, at 11am sharp, in response to the invitation of the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to all federal authorities and their departments and for a wide national participation, by simultaneously raising the country’s flag on a pole.
The ceremony to raise the UAE flag at the ministry’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi was witnessed by Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State and Acting Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with assistant ministers, directors of departments and their deputies, as well as the ministry’s employees.
The UAE celebrates its annual Flag Day on 3rd November each year, a date which coincides with the anniversary of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan taking office.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid launched the first Flag Day on 3rd November, 2013, which became a popular and ongoing national campaign, to raise the UAE’s flag high, as an expression of love for the nation, the feeling of gratitude for the founders of the country, the solidarity of all its people, and their pledge to spend everything precious and valuable to preserve the Federation.
