Over 37,000 Syrians are now receiving assistance from the Lebanese government, the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees said Friday, although activists say the total number of refugees in Lebanon is closer to 90,000. The latest weekly report from the UNHCR adds that 35,686 of refugees are registered with the UNHCR and the government’s Higher Relief Committee. The HRC and UNHCR will next week begin a centralized registration program in Tripoli. (daily star)
