The Jordanian-Egyptian Higher Committee 27th meetings kicked off here today to discuss ways to promote economic, trade and investment ties between the two countries.
The gathering is scheduled to also tackle cooperation between the two countries in health, agriculture and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) fields.
Officials from both countries will also discuss cooperation in issues related to pharmaceutical industries, increase flights between Jordan and Egypt, in addition to agriculture.
Both sides pin hopes on outcome of the meetings in order to promote trade and economic relations between the two countries.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, Yousef Shamali, said today’s meeting comes in order to complete efforts of the previous meetings during which solutions to important and strategic topics were reached.
He hoped that the meetings would result in a qualitative shift in economic and trade ties, reaching the aspirations of the two countries’ leaders.
Head of the Egyptian delegation said his country looks with interest to the meetings to cement bilateral relations in all fields.
He added that Egypt was keen to remove hurdles facing trade and stimulate private sector of both countries, stressing the importance of boosting the volume of joint investments.
