His Majesty King Abdullah II on Thursday received Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal and discussed the strong bilateral ties as well as a number of Arab and regional issues of common concern. The King commended the distinguished Jordanian-Saudi relations as a model for the joint Arab action, stressing keenness on promoting them to serve the joint interests of both countries. His Majesty also outlined efforts to realize a just and comprehensive peace in the region to fulfill aspirations of the Palestinians for an independent state based on the two-state solution. King Abdullah also stressed that the Palestinian cause is the core issue in the region. Prince Saud conveyed regards of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia to King Abdullah II, stressing keenness on enhancing bilateral relations in various domains. The meeting also dealt with the situation in Syria and its dangerous consequences on the neighboring countries, which host thousands of Syrian refugees. The meeting was attended by Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Director of the King's Office Imad Fakhoury, and Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh.
