The Israeli occupation forces released on Monday 50-year-old Palestinian prisoner Ibrahim Barood after spending 27 years in jail. Barood, an activist of the Islamic Jihad Movement, spent the last seven years of his imprisonment term in an isolatory prison cell. He arrived to Gaza via Beit Hanoun (Erez) barrier in Northern Gaza Strop. Hundreds of Gaza residents and activists of the Islamic Jihad movement have been waiting for Barood upon his arrival. In statements upon his arrival to Gaza, Barood urged the Palestinian people and international agencies to attach special importance to the issue of the Palestinian prisoners held in the Israeli jails. He asserted that the prisoners are suffering from repressive measures at the Israeli jails. Barood was arrested by the Israeli occupation forces in 1986 from his house in ia refugee camp in northern Gaza Strip. The Israeli military court sentenced Barood to 27 years imprisonment after convicting him with charges of belonging to the Islamic Jihad movement.
