Farmers in south Lebanon found Monday the remains of a severed human foot, security sources told The Daily Star. Farmers of Kfar Roummane, Nabatieh, found the remains of a human foot while tilling a field in the area. The sources said the foot belonged to an 84-year-old patient with diabetes who underwent surgery to amputate the limb. The sources said the foot was still covered in flesh – an indication of the age of the limb – and that an investigation into the discovery is ongoing. They said the woman, identified as Al-Abda Noureddine, had the operation because her blood sugar was at the upper end of the normal range. “The foot was buried in the field. However, obviously the hole was not deep enough and dogs were able to dig the foot out,” one of the sources said. (daily star)
