The General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare and the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, to establish joint cooperation in various supportive fields for youth activities and programmes.
The MoU aims to achieve social responsibilities and prepare qualified, sociocultural and humanitarian generations to serve the UAE.
Ibrahim Abdul Malik signed the MoU on behalf of the General-Secretary of the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare, while Dr. Mohammad Ateeq Al Falahi, Secretary-General of the ERC signed on behalf of the ERC.
The signing of the MoU is in line with the 2017 ‘Year of Giving’ initiative launched by the UAE's wise leadership. It reflects their keenness to enhance strategic partnerships among federal and local institutions through organisational frameworks to achieve joint principles by supporting humanitarian and social projects and exchanging expertise in humanitarian and social work.
Abdul Malik said that the signing of the MoU and the cooperation agreements show their readiness to communicate with all institutions in the country and their belief that the promotion of work is connected with joint cooperation that will reach the desired goals and objectives.
Dr. Al Falahi said that ERC, as per the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the ERC, aims at involving all official institutions and private sector entities in the country to support the humanitarian and charitable initiatives in the ‘Year of Giving’ launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
