The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched the “Travel Safe” awareness campaign to offer travel tips to all Bahraini citizens planning to go on holiday abroad and help them secure their personal safety and security.
The campaign, coinciding with the start of the summer and the beginning of the travel season, puts at their disposal the 2017 Travel Guidelines 2017.
It aims to familiarise citizens planning to travel abroad with the steps that must be followed and which range from passport validity, observing host country regulations and avoiding theft to tips on accommodation and proper wear to help them enjoy safe and pleasant holidays.
The campaign, launched through the various social media of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as through Bahrain News Agency (BNA), features the distribution of brochures and flyers containing information on Bahraini embassies and diplomatic missions abroad along with their contact numbers to be used in the event of emergency.
The brochures were distributed to the passengers at Bahrain International Airport and information was displayed on big TV screens while some short video clips were broadcast on Bahrain TV and on various social media.
In its campaign, the ministry insisted on the importance for Bahraini travelers to register their trips on Wejhaty app., an application launched by the ministry in cooperation with the Information and eGovernment Authority.
It aims to enable those planning to travel to receive notifications and important alerts regarding the countries of destination along with visa information and other travel-related services.
Further information on “Travel Safe” could be obtained on MOFA’s social media like Twitter and Instagram at:@bahdiplomatic.
