Minister of foreign affairs Riyad al-Malki on Tuesday called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to intervene to stop the \"Judaization\" of Jerusalem. In a meeting with the organization’s secretary general Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, al-Malki condemned Israeli actions in Jerusalem such as settlement construction and racist attacks. He reiterated the importance of international efforts to stop such violations which he said impeded the peace process. He added that \"condemnations are not enough.\" Ihsanoglu, for his part, reiterated that settlements violate international law and threaten the two-state solution. \"The Palestinian issue and Jerusalem are a priority\" for the OIC, he said.
