Hadramaut - Emirates Voice
The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, today distributed school bags to local students in the districts of the Hadramaut coast, in Yemen, on the start of the new school year.
The team visited several public schools in eastern Zaghfa in Mukalla, the capital city of the governorate, where they distributed school bags to students, which contain enough notebooks and other supplies to last an entire school year.
In his statement marking the occasion, Abdulaziz Al Jabri, Head of the ERC Team in Hadramaut Governorate, highlighted the ERC’s efforts to support education in the liberated areas of Yemen through such projects, as well to rehabilitate, equip and construct schools and educational facilities, while providing full support to Yemeni families so their children can continue their education, to create a new Yemen free from crises.
Al Jabri again noted that the project’s scope includes the districts of the coast of Hadramaut, while adding that there will be other ERC projects in the region to support local education after it experienced many problems, due to its control by the Al Qaeda terrorist organisation.
The Director-General of the main school in Zaghfa expressed his appreciation to the UAE and the ERC for their key role in supporting education in Hadramaut, which should guarantee a better future for its coming generations.
The ERC works through its teams in the liberated areas of Yemen to improve the living conditions of local citizens and repair the infrastructure in these areas, to reduce the effects of the crisis that Yemen has experienced, which was caused by the coup supporters. It is also working to facilitate the development process and restore the normal living conditions of local people.
