The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, today distributed 5,000 food baskets, including many basic food supplies, to needy families and those with limited income in the district of Nisab in the Yemeni governorate of Shabwa, as a response to the appeals of local authorities and social personalities for urgent humanitarian action, to ease the suffering of local people and provide daily essential supplies to needy families.
This latest distribution of aid is part of the UAE’s humanitarian, development and relief efforts, to support Yemenis, ease their suffering and improve their living conditions.
During the distribution of the food baskets, Mohammed Saif Al Muhairi, Head of the ERC Team in Shabwa, said that 5,000 families residing in the villages and other areas of Nisab will directly benefit from this assistance.
He added that the ERC is working to improve the lives of local people and provide necessary humanitarian relief and assistance, as well as organise development projects, in the governorate while stressing that it began, from Nisab today, its humanitarian efforts in the northwestern districts of Shabwa, to provide assistance to deserving cases.
The people of the district expressed their utmost appreciation to the ERC and its team for their considerable efforts in providing aid and assistance to sectors in need in Shabwa while valuing the UAE’s leadership and people for providing aid and humanitarian assistance, which help to ease the suffering of many families and heads of households experiencing difficult living conditions and the lack of work and sources of income, due to the Houthi-led war.
