Hadramaut - Emirates Voice
The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has distributed rescue supplies to people with special needs, as well as to those from poor and limited income families in the Hajar district, West of Hadramaut Governorate in Yemen.
The distribution programme was part of the UAE's humanitarian campaign and rescue efforts to help its brothers in Yemen by easing their suffering, and improving their living and economic circumstances.
Ahmed Al-Neyadi, Deputy Head of the ERC team in Hadramaut, clarified that the rescue supplies were distributed to meet the needs of the people and normalise the living conditions of the families facing difficult economic circumstances.
The ERC is working, especially in the humanitarian fields, to bridge the gap in food supply, in light of the recent events witnessed by the governorate, which has made food scarce and difficult to buy for poor families.
He stressed that the ERC would intensify its humanitarian efforts in the liberated governorates and remote regions. He highlighted that the ERC had arranged the distribution of the rescue supplies through a mechanism to ensure that the food aid reached those who needed them.
Mohammed Baras, Representative of the local authority in Hajar district, praised the role of the ERC in raising the level of livelihoods of the people through its sustained humanitarian aid.
He pointed out that the people of the district were facing difficult and complicated economic conditions, as well as were lacking basic services, owing to the Houthi coup against the legitimate government of the country.
He added that the Emirati presence in the governorate of Hadramaut, and the other liberated governorates, could not be ignored or forgotten, especially as the governorates were facing a crisis because of the Chapala and Meg hurricanes.
The beneficiaries have expressed their overwhelming happiness with the ERC's humanitarian gesture and praised the UAE government and the people for their sustained rescue operations in the Yemeni governorates.
