The Emirates Policy Centre

The Emirates Policy Centre is organising a workshop to discuss the crisis between Qatar and the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt, to be held on 25th September, 2017, with the participation of many experts, researchers, academics and journalists.

Dr. Ibtissan Al Katbi, President of the Emirates Policy Centre, said that the workshop will address the crises between Qatar and its Gulf and Arab neighbours and its effects on the interests of the region while considering Qatar’s intransigence in responding to the demands of its Gulf neighbours, to end its support for terrorism and its political aid to terrorist and extremist groups in the region, which challenge the overall international efforts to fight terrorism.

The workshop will focus on the consequences of the individual decisions of Qatar on the Qatari people and the Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, as well as its alliances with regional forces that threaten the security and interests of Gulf countries and affect the unity of the GCC and its strategic regional and international position.

The workshop aims to present an analysis of the crisis and potential future scenarios.
