The Egyptian people are looking toward achieving a modern democratic state, said Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy here on Monday. Fahmy told the BBC, that providing security for Egyptian citizens was a top priority for the government, affirming that it was very important to implement the roadmap to form the constitution and hold the Presidential and parliamentary elections to achieve security and prosperity for the people. In regards to how the government would deal with the protests at Raba Al-Adawita square, Fahmy said that the right for peaceful protests was guaranteed; however, any kind of violence would not be tolerated. The government, said Fahmy, will try to convince protesters to end their stance through dialogue and if such method did not work then the law should be implemented.
