Egyptian police and army forces Saturday killed four gunmen and arrested six when they attacked residential areas in the Sinai Peninsula, dpa quoted a security official as saying. Security forces besieged the gunmen who were hiding in schools in the town of Sheikh Zuwaid before attacking them, the official said on the condition of anonymity. The detained gunmen were then transferred to Cairo by plane for investigation.
