Egyptian ambassador to Turkey Wafaa el-Hadidi said on Saturday that an Egyptian was injured in the ongoing clashes between Turkish security forces and protesters in Istanbul. The injured, accompanied by his wife, arrived to Istanbul on Friday to attend a textile exhibition, el-Hadidi told MENA. On his way to the hotel, he was injured by a teargas canister that exploded in front of him. He is suffering from brain hemorrhage and concussion and a skull fracture. He was moved to intensive care for treatment. El-Hadidi asserted that he is in a stable condition.
