The Dubai Taxi Corporation Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, has unveiled a sharp increase in the number of students served by the School Transport Service of the Corporation since the start of the third term to as much as 133 per cent.
The number of students registered in the service has rocketed from about 3000 students in the second term to about 7000 students this term. Equally, the number of buses deployed to run the service has soared from 130 to 272 school buses.
"These statistics are indicative of an upsurge in confidence reposed by students and their parents in the school transport system," said Mohammed Saeed Al Dhuhoori, Director of School Transport at the Dubai Taxi Corporation. "The Corporation is committed to adopting the highest standards of safety and quality in operating and monitoring the performance of the school transport service."
"According to opinion polls and questionnaires conducted by the Authority to screen the satisfaction rating of students and their parents about the level of safety in school buses, 87 per cent of students voiced feeling of security and comfort with the service in 2016," added Al Dhuhori.
