Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri has been appointed Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, according to a resolution issued by UAE Vice President and Prime Minister HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai.
Shaikh Mohammed described the new commander-in-chief as an efficient, devoted and honest young leader. He wished Major-General Al Marri success in serving his country.
Al Marri joined the Dubai Police in 1992 and has achieved a great deal ever since, according to UAE News Agency (WAM).
Al Marri said he was proud of the confidence reposed in him by Dubai Ruler and pledged to dedicate his energy and professional expertise towards the progress of Dubai’s police and public security. He also paid tribute to his predecessor the late Khamis Matar Al Mazinah.
"I have learnt a lot from Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Dubai Police and Public Security and from the late Lt. General Al Mazinah, and I look forward to continue learning," he said. "I hope I will meet the expectations of the leadership and the people of the UAE and work hand in hand with my colleagues in Dubai Police to serve our country," he added.
