Daesh militant killed in army operation in North Lebanon

The Lebanese Army Thursday killed one ISIS militant during a major operation in the northern district of Akkar.

    In a statement, the Army said that one of its units raided an ISIS cell in Akkar's town of Kherbet Daoud early Thursday, killing one militant, according to (The Daily Star).

    Three ISIS militants were also arrested in the operation. The four men were all of Lebanese nationality. The Army said there had been no casualties from its side. 

    The militant cell was said to have been responsible for the killing of three Lebanese soldiers and injuring an officer with the rank of First Adjutant in the Interior Ministry's information branch, the statement added.
