Clashes erupted on Thursday between Lebanese army and Daesh militants in Ras Baalbek in northeastern Lebanon, a local official told MENA.

Earlier, Daesh militants attacked a Lebanese military position, the official said, adding that the Lebanese forces, in cooperation with helicopters, confronted the attack.

An army soldier was killed while a number of Daesh members were killed and injured in the clashes.
