HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud chaired Wednesday the Cabinet's ordinary meeting at its Emiri Diwan premises.
Following the meeting, HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs said that the Cabinet reviewed topics on the meeting's agenda.
The Cabinet ordered taking the necessary measures to issue the following draft laws after it considered the recommendations of the Advisory Council thereon:
1. A draft law amending some laws related to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
2. A draft law amending some provisions of decree law No. (17) of 2010 organizing the National Human Rights Committee.
Then, the Cabinet approved a draft law on environment protection and sustainability.
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment prepared the draft law to replace the decree law No. (30) of 2002 in the issuance of the environment protection law, in the framework of modernizing legislation and complying with the requirements of the national environmental development and the international and regional developments in this regard.
The Cabinet also took the necessary measures to approve a cooperation agreement in the fields of standardization, metrology, certification and accreditation between the Government of Qatar and the Government of Turkmenistan, and a memorandum of understanding on the development of energy cooperation between the Government of Qatar and the Government of Turkmenistan.
The Cabinet approved: 1- Draft twinning agreement between the Municipality of Doha in the State of Qatar and the Municipality of Minsk in the Republic of Belarus.
2. Draft memorandum of understanding between the Civil Aviation Authority in Qatar and the European Aviation Safety Agency on aviation safety.
The Cabinet reviewed following topics and took necessary decision thereon: 1. Draft law on the regulation of vehicle parking.
2. Draft decree authorizing Qatar Development Bank to use lands to construct a project to build residential units, shops, facilities and services.
3. Letter of HE the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Regulatory Authority at Qatar Financial Center on the report of the activities of the Center for the period from 1/4/2016 to 31/3/2017.
4. Memo of HE the Minister of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs on the results of the 44th session of the Arab Labor Conference, and the 35th coordination meeting of the Council of Ministers of Labor of the Gulf Cooperation Council (Cairo, April 2017).
