Body of drowned Egyptian fishermen brought home from Sudan

The body of an Egyptian fisherman who died after a boat sank off Sudan's waters last week was brought to home on Saturday, a foreign minister assistant said.

The body of el Sayed el Sayed Afifi was shipped on board a Port Sudan-Cairo flight at a request of the victim's family, Hisham el Naqib, the assistant foreign minister for consular affairs, said.

Another body will be airlifted on Sunday on from Khartoum to Cairo, he added.

Last Saturday, an Egyptian fishing boat carrying 14 fishermen drifted into the Sudanese territorial waters due to strong winds and sent an SOS signal before it sank.
