Bahrain is proud of its fraternal relations with Qatar, Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmad bin Mohammad Al Khalifa said, underlining the strength and depth of relations linking the two countries. In an interview with the Qatari daily (Al-Arab), the Bahraini Foreign Minister noted that the meeting he held during his stay in Doha asserted the depth of relations between Qatar and Bahrain, adding that a framework agreement regarding the GCC development program will be signed in the coming few days. Sheikh Khalid underlined that the Qatar-Bahrain Causeway is a strategic project for both countries. He noted that Bahrain considers the bridge as an important strategic interest that will enhance cooperation and economic opportunities between the two sides. The Bahraini Foreign Minister expected that 2013-2014 will be decisive for the Gulf Union, and renewed emphasis on the importance of developing the GCC current system to form a union among its six members.
