Oil Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa is attending the 22nd World Petroleum Council (WPC) conference hosted in Istanbul, Turkey on July 9-13.
The 22nd WPC features the theme “Bridges to Our Energy Future “, and is under the supervision of the Turkish National Committee in the World Petroleum Council.
The minister said that participation by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the 22nd WPC clearly translates the directives of the leadership and its keenness to promote the achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain and represent it in regional and global forums, which the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) strives to implement within its operational strategy.
The Kingdom of Bahrain takes part in this unique WPC where a large number of participants is expected from governmental and non-governmental organizations, international institutions and other industrial sectors. Around 50 ministers, 500 senior executives, over 500 speakers and 5,000 participants from different countries around the world are attending WPC. A large number of students, young professionals, world press and official partners are also present.
WPC discusses the future of energy sector and global policies to ensure its effectiveness, as well as major challenges facing the oil industry from price fluctuations and volatility in the global economy. Discussions also include how best to consume energy, and the need to develop a long-term policy for the huge investments required in the energy sector.
The exhibition attracts a large participation from the most prestigious national and international oil and gas companies, key suppliers, service companies and manufacturers, where they share the latest technological innovations in all countries.
Also, the exhibition accompanying the conference is anticipated to receive more than 20,000 visitors.
