Bahrain’s delegation headed by Health Minister Faeqa Saeed Al Saleh has participated in the World Health Organization (WHO)’s 64th Session of the Regional Committee for Eastern Mediterranean, recently held in Islamabad.
Delegations from 22 countries attended the meeting during which the Pakistani Minister of Health Saira Afzal Tarar was elected to chair the 64th Regional Committee Session.

The delegations discussed various topics including the private sector’s participation in the comprehensive health coverage, development of national capacities in research, ethics, improvement of decision-making proces, the WHO’s programme for sound management of medicines in the Eastern Mediterranean region, the results and impact.

The meeting also discussed the preparation of a host of health tools to address non-contagious diseases in emergency cases in the region regarding logical causation and methodology in addition to the full implementation of the WHO framework agreement to save human life and full monitoring of communicable diseases
