44th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)

 The Kingdom of Bahrain participated in the 44th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States held in Abidjan, Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, on July 10-11 titled “Youth, Peace and Development in a World of Solidarity.”
The Kingdom’s delegation included the Director of Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Tawfeeq Ahmed Al-Mansour.

The meeting discussed the most important topics in the Islamic arena, primarily the Palestinian issue, the Arab-Israeli conflict, the situation of Muslim groups and societies in non-Islamic countries, the phenomenon of Islamophobia, defamation of religions, combating terrorism and violent extremism, conflicts in the Islamic world and other issues of concern to Islamic countries.

The final statement affirmed the need to pay attention to youths and tend to their requirements and needs to keep them away from the fields of extremism and violence so that they can positively contribute to their societies.
