Bahrain King Issues Law on Political Societies

King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain on Sunday issued a law regulating political societies affairs. 
According to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the Law No. (13) of 2016 stipulates the amending of the method and procedures of forming a political society to choose its leaders who should not have done any preaching, guidance and speechmaking on religious pulpits even if in consideration of no remuneration. 
The law also regulates how a political society may carry out its activities, organize the relationship of a society with its members on democratic basis, defining the political, financial and administrative domain of any of the apparatuses or leaders of a political society, to ensure maximum democratic discussion inside these apparatuses. 
The law bans the simultaneous joining of membership in a political society and assuming the role of preaching, guidance or speechmaking on religious pulpits even if in consideration of no remuneration. Under no circumstances can anyone simultaneously join between a religious pulpit and the membership of a political society.
