Al-Azhar vehemently condemned the siege of some mosques in Mansoura, Daqahliya, and elsewhere by ignorant persons who do not wish any good to the country. Senior Azhar adviser Hassan el-Shafaei told MENA that the Sunni institution strongly denounces the violence perpetrated by criminals, leaving youth victims in both Sharqiya and Daqahliya. Azhar urges all sides to renounce all forms of violence and underlines the \"sanctity of the Egyptian blood.\"
