This code, which was formulated in line national laws, regulations and legislation, aims at establishing greater transparency, good governance, integrity and supervision governing military conduct.

It also seeks to improve and strengthen job performance with accuracy, impartiality and credibility, and under the highest degree of responsibility, efficiency, honesty and sincerity, in a fashion maintaining the supreme message of the armed forces, which is safeguarding the homeland’s sovereignty and independence.

The provisions of the code affirm that high-ranking officers should perform the duties assigned to them to the fullest extent and respect and apply effective laws in all impartiality and integrity without prejudice or discrimination.

It also demand officers to take full responsibility towards their subordinates without bowing to any pressures or favoritism, maintain military secrecy and confidentiality and not disclose or publish any information that may harm the interests of the country and the armed forces.

The code also emphasizes the importance of not using public office or available information to achieve any personal, material or moral gains, whether directly or indirectly. It requires officers to abide by the state’s policy and not to join political parties or participate in demonstrations and elections or attend partisan or electoral meetings without prior approval.

It calls for preserving public money and demands officers to periodically declare comprehensive financial disclosure including movable and immovable property, both inside and outside the country, and this includes their families.
