Speaker of the Arab Parliament (AP) Dr Meshal bin Fahm Al Sulami expressed his appreciation to the commitment of the State of Qatar and HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to achieve the aspirations of the Qatari citizen.
Head of the Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs at the Arab Parliament Khalid Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi read out the speech of the Speaker in the opening session of the 13th General Assembly meeting of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions. Al Sulami said that the Qatari constitution stressed on the importance of human rights principles and providing an honorable life to the Qatari citizens.
For his part, Assistant GCC Secretary-General for Legal Affairs Hamad bin Rashid Al Marry discussed the efforts of the State of Qatar in the field of human rights. He said that these efforts are evident in the policies of the country's wise leadership mentioned in Qatar National Vision 2030.
He said that the vision of the State of Qatar is based on human development through investments in healthcare, education, and developing the workforce. He added that social development and enhancing the role of women was also another important aspect in order to diversify the economy and optimally use resources such as oil and gas. Al Marri noted that the State of Qatar has seen fast developments in social and economic rights that made the top Arab country and 33rd overall in that category.
