The Governor of Anbar province, Qasim al-Fahdawi, survived an assassination attempt by a car bomb in central Ramadi, some 110km west of Baghdad. An Iraqi source said a booby-trapped car targeted the governor's convoy at the entrance of the building of Anbar province in central Ramadi. A security force cordoned off the site of the attack. A manhunt was launched in search of the perpetrators.
