Abu Dhabi Authority receives international awards, certifications

The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority has received a number of international recognitions in honour of their professional management of housing projects.

This was noted as H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Housing, chaired the third meeting of the Authority's Board of Directors for 2016, held in his office at the Crown Prince Court.

The board noted that the Authority was awarded two international certifications: ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, and OHSAS, an international occupational health and safety management system specification.

Meeting the requirements of the certifications is helps safeguard the health and safety of staff, customers and visitors at the authority. It also helps reduce the environmental impact of the Authority’s operations by setting clear goals and monitoring performance on a regular basis.

The Authority also received the sixth Middle East Cities and Municipalities Excellence Award, in recognition of its achievements and excellence in urban development and municipal work.

It reviewed procedures for disbursing housing aid for eligible individuals. The aid issued on 2nd December cover 365 residential units and 463 plots in Abu Dhabi.

Further, H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan approved the exemption of a number of borrowers from paying off loans worth AED8 million due to their death.

He was then briefed about agreements concluded with companies to provide preventive maintenance for government housing in a number of areas in the emirate.

The board also followed up on the progress of work at housing projects in Al Ain and Al Falah area.
