Eight tribesmen and Al-Qaeda militants were killed in clashes in Obadiah Valley in the northeast Maarib province on Sunday. Al-Masdar (source) daily newspaper said in its online edition that four tribesmen were killed from Al-Maili Tribe, during confrontations with four Al-Qaeda men, who were also killed during the clashes. Yemeni media sources said the clashes erupted when Al-Qaeda militants opened fire on the tribesmen. Maarib province is considered one of the Al-Qaeda active areas in the country.
