Five people were killed and others injured in tribal clashes in the province of Shabwah in eastern Yemen. A security source in the province said in a statement today that the clashes erupted due to a dispute between two tribes over the ownership of a plot of land handed over to foreign companies to establish oil investments. The source added that army troops were enhanced in the area in order to defend oil fields adjacent to the confrontations scene to ensure the continuation of oil flow and to protect foreign companies’ experts and workers.
