Coach Remi Garde has warned Lyon to quickly get their UEFA Champions League exit to underdogs APOEL out of their system. The Ligue 1 giants became the latest victims of the Cypriot giant-killers, who became the first team from their country to reach the last eight of a European competition when they triumphed on penalties last night. Gustavo Manduca\'s goal earned APOEL a 1-0 win on the night, though the forward was then sent off in extra time before the tie finished 1-1 on aggregate. Lisandro Lopez\'s penalty bounced in off Dionissis Chiotis, but the keeper then saved from Alexandre Lacazette and Michel Bastos to prolong his side\'s fairytale run in the competition. Lyon, by contrast, must face up to a last-16 exit for the fifth time in six years and Garde told L\'Equipe: \"It\'s a great disappointment. Nobody is happy, we let our chance slip away.\" Les Gones remain in contention in both domestic cups, though, and are still pushing for a third-placed finish in the league, with a huge match looming on Saturday when current incumbents Lille visit the Stade Gerland. \"Beating ourselves up won\'t help us move forward,\" Garde continued. \"We must move on to other things and think about what comes next. We do not have time to dwell on this, with Lille coming up. When you remain in contention in three competitions, you have to be motivated.\" He found time to acknowledge the efforts of his side\'s opponents, and said: \"We played against a good team - even though their name was not widely known, they had earned their place in the last 16 of the Champions League and now in the quarter-finals.\" Aulas feels sorry for Lacazette Club president Jean-Michel Aulas echoed his coach\'s thoughts, telling OLTV: \"It\'s immensely frustrating because we had a good chance to qualify. Now, we must gather ourselves because there are big games to come. \"Spare a thought for Alexandre Lacazette, who was surely our best player but missed his penalty. It\'s a huge disappointment but I tip my hat to APOEL, they have been unbeatable at home in the Champions League.\"
