Unidentified gunmen assassinated on Friday a high-level officer at the Yemeni military intelligence service in Aden.

Aden Al Ghad newspaper quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the gunmen shot dead Colonel Adham Mohamed al Jaari while coming out of his house in Aden.

The gunmen fled the scene after the attack, they added.

Jaari is a leader of the Popular Resistance Committees which are loyal to President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi in Abyan Governorate.
