The operation of liberating Abyan province from the Houthis started today at dawn, a military source said.

Dozens of tanks, armored vehicles and thousands of soldiers are taking part in the operation, a source told Aden al Ghad newspaper.

Yemen has been rocked by months of fighting between the Houthis and loyalists of Yemeni President Abdrabu Mansur Hadi, supported by the Arab coalition, leaving thousands dead and 21 million people in need of urgent aid.
