The Command of the Coalition Forces to Support the Legitimacy of Yemen said that it had launched a joint military operation against Al Qaeda organization in Yemen.

In a statement on Sunday, the coalition's command said that more than 800 Al Qaeda elements and leaders were killed in the operation. The rest of Al Qaeda fighters managed to flee, the statement added.

This operation will help in intensifying humanitarian relief efforts in Yemeni cities, particularly in Yemen's seaport of Mukalla, which has been taken over by Al Qaeda, according to the statement.
