The popular resistance in the Yemeni province of Taiz said that it killed 42 Houthi militants in the recent battles in Mashra'a and Hadnan areas in Jebel Sabr.

The battles which erupted between the two sides yesterday left nine members of the popular resistance dead, a source with the popular resistance said.

Yemen has been rocked by months of fighting between the Houthis and loyalists of Yemeni President Abdrabu Mansur Hadi, supported by the Arab coalition, leaving thousands dead and 21 million people in need of urgent aid.
