At least four police officers were killed in a Taliban attack on their checkpoint in southern Afghanistan, officials said Wednesday.“A group of Taliban insurgents assaulted a police checkpoint late Tuesday in Ghorak district, killing four police officers and injuring one,” Kandahar governor’s office announced in a statement.It said that three other officers went missing, likely taken hostage by the attackers. The officers weapons and ammunition were also taken.Taliban officials did not comment on the attack.
