A suicide bomber attacked a convoy of the NATO-led coalition security forces in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
According to local government officials, the incident took place late Saturday in Jalalabad city.
The officials further added that a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near the vehicles convoy of the coalition forces, leaving a number of people injured, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
In the meantime, deputy interior minister for security, Gen. Ayub Salangi said the incident took place in Jalalabad ring road.
Gen. Salangi further added that two children were injured following the suicide attack and no other casualties were reported.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
Nangarhar is among the relatively peaceful provinces in eastern Afghanistan; however, the anti-government armed militant groups are active in a number of its remote districts and frequently carry out insurgency activities.
