Attack in eastern Afghanistan

At least three Turkish nationals were killed and another injured in an explosion in the Behsud district of eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan on Monday, said officials.
Provincial governor spokesman, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, told reporters that the incident took place in Behsud, after a suicide bomber detonated his explosive laden rickshaw next to the vehicle of the Turkish engineers, who were working for a Turkish construction company.
He further said, "The Turkish workers were traveling for work in the district of Behsud where they were building a base for the Afghan forces." One child and another Turkish engineer were injured in the attack.
Police spokesman Husain Mashraqiwal confirmed the death toll and said that the police have started investigations about the attack and the victims have been taken to a nearby hospital.
The attack came at a time when Afghanistan is preparing for the second round of the presidential elections to choose a successor to President Hamid Karzai.
