At least ten people including four militants have been killed on Wednesday when a group of militants entered into a bank in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan, said officials.
Farid Ahmad Obaid, the police spokesman told media that the fierce clash erupted when a four-member group of suicide bombers entered the facility. Two of the bombers blew themselves up while security forces gunned down the rest.
He further said that eight others, including two policemen were wounded in the firefight. The militants forced their way into the New Kabul Bank branch in Lashkargah, the capital of Helmand.
A health official at the Emergency Hospital, Haji Ayub confirmed receiving six dead and seven wounded people including number of customers and bank employees.
Security forces reached the site of the incident and cordoned off the area. The attack came at a time when NATO/ISAF forces are preparing to leave Afghanistan till end of the current year.
