At least six Taliban commanders were killed following asuicide blast in eastern Logar province of Afghanistan on Tuesday.According to NDS officials, the incident took place around 12:30 pm local time inCharkh district. The officials further added that the Taliban commanders were looking to prepare asuicide bomber for an attack when the suicide bombing vest went off,Khaama pressreported today.Logar is among the volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where Talibanmilitants and insurgents from the other militant groups are openly operating in itsvarious districts.The Taliban militants have recently increased their insurgency attacks across thecountry and in capital Kabul as only a few days are left to presidential andprovincial council elections.This comes as a premature suicide attack left at least one Afghan policeman deadand three others injured in Charkh distirct on Monday.Ealier Monday, at least eight people were killed and four others were injured twoseparate bombings that rocked the Northern part of Afghanistan. In the first attack, a police vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb in Khan Abaddistrict. A police vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Khan Abad district. Police saidthat one officer was left killed and three others injured as a result of the explosion.
